THINGS TO MAKE
PINE CONE BIRD FEEDER
You will need   A pine cone
                                 Peanut Butter
                                 Margarine (just a little)
                                 Piece of wire or string.
                                 Birdseed.

Attach the piece of wire or string onto the pine cone.
Mix peanut butter and margarine (whatever quantity you like)
Spread the mixture onto the pine cone.
Pour some birdseed in a plate and roll the pine cone in it.
Put this into the freezer for about an hour until mixture is set.
Then all you do is hang it outside in a tree or similar place.
Watch the birds have a party !
FLOWER PHOTO
You will need:
Piece of coloured paper ( or thin craft cardboard.)
              Another small piece for petals
A photo of yourself ( or anyone you like)
              Glue, scissors,
Pen or pencil, small brush, green paint.
Cut around the head of your photo which will be the centre of the flower.
Cut a flower shape out of your paper or thin cardboard.
This will have to be bigger than the picture.
Glue the flower near the top of a piece of paper.
Using your green paint, draw a stem for your flower.
Draw  leaves from the stem
Glue the photo you have cut around into the centre of the flower.
You can write your name and age on the bottom of this photo
if you like.
CREPE  FLOWERS
You will need :   Crepe paper
                                Green pipe cleaners or ties
( anything that will be able to twist around)
Cut about 4 to 6 pieces of crepe paper into around 8 inches by 10 inches ( exact size doesn't matter)
Place these pieces together.
Fold them like an accordian or fan.
Tie the centre of this with your green tie or pipe cleaner.
Gently pull each piece of paper in this pile towards the
centre of the flower.   Make sure to separate each sheet as you do this as it will
form the petals of the flower.
CHRISTMAS CARD JIGSAW
If you have cards left over from last Christmas this is a fun way to recycle them.
Get about 10 to 20 cards and cut them into 3 or 4 pieces,
straight lines are best but if you want a real challenge cut them in different shapes.
Shuffle them around and put them back together again.
Sounds easy doesn't it ? but you will be surprised.
PRETTY BUTTERFLIES
I know that chocolate is not good for your teeth, and I'm
not saying to go and and buy a box !!   But ask your Mother
or Aunty or friends to keep the wrappers from any chocolates they may have.
Then smooth out the wrappers carefully and fold them like an accordian or fan.
Gather each one in the centre and tie with a piece of coloured ribbon or wool.
Leave enough length to tie and form a loop.
Hang the butterfly on your Christmas tree or near a window to catch the light.

Another idea is to lightly glue the paper before folding
into accordian shape and sprinkle with glitter.

Read these two stories from the Bible
This is called " The Beatitudes"
Jesus went up to the mountainside and called his
disciples (his friends) and he began to teach them.

You can find The Beatitudes in your Bible  under ---   Matthew Chapter 5: Verses 1 to 12
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kindom of Heaven.
These are people who are humble and who do not think much of themselves.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Many things happen to us in life, but God will comfort us when we turn to him.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Meekness is also about humility, by knowing that whatever we accomplish in life was by the power of God.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
The Bible tells us of the things that please God, and that is where we get our spiritual " food"

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
The person who is merciful is kind and forgiving, and is not hateful toward others, but looks for good qualities in people.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Fill our minds with good thoughts, not evil ones. be careful what we watch, read and hear.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the people of God.
Encourage people to get along and to be friends. Be a peacemaker.

Blessed are those who are persecuted ( treated badly) for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
We must stand up for what is right in God's eyes, even if it means making someone angry or upset with us.  Sometimes this is hard to do, but it is pleasing to God.
Mary and Martha
Jesus had some very close friends, two sisters Martha and Mary,  and their brother Lazarus.

Once he was visiting their home and Mary sat at Jesus' feet
listening to his teaching.

Martha, her sister was busy getting a meal ready and she became very upset because she was the one doing all the work.

She wanted Jesus to tell Mary to get up and help her.
Jesus said " Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but one thing only is needed."

"Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her"
Jesus did not mean that Martha was wrong and Mary was right.  Mary was concentrating on what Jesus was saying and to her that was more important than preparing food.
Martha was listening to Jesus, but was also worrying about making sure there was food prepared for him.
The story of Martha and Mary can be found in
Luke Chapter 10: Verses 38 to 42
